Velichappadu or the representatives of God,once a common figure in the temples of Valluvanadan Kerala, where the much feared awed oracles. Adorning vibrant red costume,heavy ritual ornaments and garlands they paced about with heavy hooked swords in a deep trance. As the accompanying drums and cymbals got louder, the spirit of the deity
manifested them and prophecy the future and give assurances to the devotees. Fast disappearing from the cultural landscape of Kerala in modern times, these forecasters of good times have been immortalized in our designs.
